Lori Ann Lindsey (born 19 March 1980) is an American soccer midfielder and current member of the United States Women's National Soccer Team who played in the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup in Germany. Lindsey also plays for the Philadelphia Independence of Women's Professional Soccer.

College/High School

Played at the University of Virginia from 1998–2001 and was the school's first-ever Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year, winning the award two consecutive years (2000 & 2001) joining Mia Hamm as the only other player to achieve that distinction. Finished sixth all-time scorer in UVA history with 33 goals and 76 points. A NSCAA Second-Team All-American in 2001 and Third-Team All-American in 2000. She was also a 2001 finalist for the M.A.C. Award. Named Female Athlete of the Year at UVA for the 2001-02 academic year. A graduate of Pike High School, she was named NSCAA Parade All-American and earned first team All-State honors four consecutive years. When she graduated she was the all-time leading prep scorer in Indiana high school history.

Professional

The first player taken in the WPS Expansion Draft by the Philadelphia Independence. Played for the Washington Freedom in the inaugural season of the WPS in 2009 after being taken 17th overall by the Freedom in the WPS General Draft. Started 18 of the 19 games she played for the Freedom, scoring two goals with one assist. The fourth overall pick in 2002 WUSA draft by San Diego Spirit, she played in 20 games, starting 13 and scored two goals with five assists. Traded to the Freedom at the 2003 WPS Draft and was a member of 2003 Founders Cup III Champions. Member of the 2007 W-League champions with the Freedom. Played for the Indiana Blaze of the W-League from 1997-00.

National Team

Current member of the full U.S. Women’s National Team, with 22 caps, and named to the roster for the FIFA 2011 Women's World Cup in Germany. One of the best possessors of the ball on the U.S. team and known for her excellent work rate, superb passing, and willingness to sacrifice for the team. The central midfielder led the USA in assists in 2010 with seven despite playing less than half the minutes available last year. Called into WNT training camps in 2009 and 2010 and was in Residency Training Camp at The Home Depot Center in 2004 and 2006. A long-time member of the USA’s youth national team pool, she played for the U.S. U-16, U-17 and U-21 teams. A member of the USA's U-21 2001 Nordic Cup champions in Norway.

Personal

Full name is Lori Ann Lindsey. Nickname is Lightning, self-given (though not due to vanity). Majored in Sociology and was a member of the IMP Secret Society at UVA. Hobbies include going to the movies, reading, listening to music, and shopping.

Resides in Washington, DC and fondest memory thus far is attending Obama's inauguration. Passionate about strength and conditioning and ultimately would like to train female athletes and help them achieve their professional and fitness goals. Brother Chris played college soccer at Earlham College. Refereed current teammate Lauren Cheney's indoor soccer games in high school. Appeared in a popular Studio 90 segment, "Roomies for Life" with teammate Megan Rapinoe. Known as most funny on USWNT.
